RECA Introduces updated information Bulletins

The Real Estate Council of Alberta has recently released more than 40 Information Bulletins on topics of interest to industry members.

Information Bulletin: Act and Board Rules

The standards of practice and real estate industry member obligations set out in the Real Estate Act and the Real Estate Act Rules, when in conflict, prevail over association or real estate board rules, including multiple listing service rules, when establishing the standards of conduct industry members are required to follow.

Service Dog Act now in effect

As of January 1, 2009, the Service Dog Act is in effect in Alberta and it is an offence to refuse access to any public place to a person with a disability who is using a qualified service dog.

Case summaries are published in accordance with section 55 of the Real Estate Act. Decisions are publicized to enhance the transparency of RECA’s disciplinary process and to assure consumers there is an effective framework in place to deal with breaches of the Real Estate Act.
