Agency Relationships Guide (print friendly guide, no graphics)
This guide is an important consumer and industry education tool that supports and works with all residential real estate relationship forms by explaining the different relationship options buyers and sellers have when working with a real estate brokerage. The guide is provided by the brokerage representative and reviewed by the brokerage representative with buyers and sellers when first discussing agency relationships. It is in the best interests of clients, customers and brokerage representatives that all parties understand the duties, obligations and limitations of each agency relationship option. The guide explains agency and customer status, describes agency duties and details types of agency relationships. Presentation of agency relationship options by industry members to consumers when first considering a working relationship is a requirement of the Real Estate Act Rules. The RECA Agency Relationships Guide meets the requirements of disclosing relationship information between consumers and industry members.
