Real Estate Amendment act proclaimed into lawOn July 28, 2008 the Real Estate Amendment Act was proclaimed by the Alberta Government. The Act made changes to the Real Estate Act and the Real Estate Act Regulations. The changes should not affect the day-to-day business of the industry. The changes allow RECA to perform its mandate more effectively and efficiently. Questions and answersTransaction BrokerageDesignated Agency became optional on March 1, 2008, and Transaction Brokerage replaces Dual Agency with Limitations on October 1, 2008.
